Professor David Begg is the Publisher of Transport Times. He is is a former chairman of the Commission for Integrated Transport and has an international reputation as a commentator on transport issues. He is the non-executive chairman of Tube Lines, and is a former Director of the Centre for Transport Policy at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.
Senior Lecturer, Aberdeen University
Dr Anable is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Transport Research, Aberdeen University. Her work focuses on transport and climate change with particular emphasis on the application of behavioural and psychological theory to the understanding of travel choice. She has advised the UK Government advisory body - the Commission for Integrated Transport - on climate change and has carried out work for the Department for Transport and the Scottish Government on carbon abatement, public attitudes to climate change and ‘smarter choices’.
Director General, South Yorkshire PTE
David Brown has 20 years’ experience in commercial, operational and business management positions in the rail industry. He joined South Yorkshire PTE in September 2000 and was promoted to the position of Passenger Services Director in 2002 and appointed as the new Director General of SYPTE in April 2008. David has a degree in geography, is a member of the IOD and has a diploma in Company Direction from the IOD.

Stephen Glaister is a Professor of Transport and Infrastructure. He has been a member of the board of Transport for London since July 2000 and was a non-executive director of London Regional Transport from 1984 to 1993.He was a member of the steering group for the Department for Transport’s National Road Pricing Feasibility Study constituted in autumn 2003. He has published widely on transport and also on regulation in the telecommunications, water and gas industries. In 1998 he was awarded the CBE for services to public transport.
Executive Director, Campaign for Better Transport
Stephen became the executive director of Campaign for Better Transport in 1988. His transport policy expertise is widely regarded, and he is regularly called to serve as a governmental advisor. He has led numerous successful policy campaigns, is frequently quoted by the national press, and is a regular author of research and opinion pieces. He was awarded the OBE in 1996 for services to transport and the environment, In 2008 he was honoured with a PTRC Lifetime Achievement Award ‘for furthering the role of transport planning in sociey’.

Steven has been CPT’s Operations Director since 1997. Prior to joining the industry’s trade association he worked in bus and coach management for the National Bus Company, Tillingbourne Bus Company and Drawlane/British Bus. He has also run his own coach business and was, for a time, responsible for running schools transport in South West Surrey for Surrey County Council. He is Vice President of the International Road Transport Union’s Social Affairs Commission and is a member of the employers’ delegation for European social dialogue in the road transport sector.
